A: Thermos choice depends on what you’ll use it for—follow this guide:
-
For Hot Drinks (Coffee/Tea): Choose a stainless steel Thermos with “vacuum insulation” (retains heat for 12–24 hours). Look for leakproof lids (screw-on or flip-top) if you’ll carry it in a bag.
-
For Cold Drinks (Smoothies/Water): Opt for double-walled insulation (keeps drinks cold for 8–16 hours). Some models have straw lids—great for on-the-go sipping.
-
Capacity: 300–500ml for single-person commutes; 750ml–1L for family outings or all-day use.
-
Material: Stainless steel (durable, no odd tastes) for adults; BPA-free plastic (lighter, shatterproof) for kids.
Pro tip: If you need a Thermos for both hot and cold drinks, check the product description—most stainless steel models work for both!
A: Yes—all our kids’ Plastic Cups are BPA-free, phthalate-free, and food-grade (tested to UK EN 71 safety standards), making them safe for daily reuse. For long-term use:
- Avoid microwaving unless labeled “microwave-safe” (most of our kids’ cups are—check the bottom of the cup for the symbol).
- Wash with mild soap and warm water (dishwasher-safe models are marked—top rack only to prevent warping).
- Replace if you see cracks, scratches, or discoloration (these can harbor bacteria over time).
Our adult Plastic Cups are also reusable and durable—great for outdoor picnics or office use (lightweight, won’t break if dropped).
A: Most of our Glass Cups are microwave-safe (made of borosilicate glass, which resists heat shock), but always check the product page or cup bottom for the “microwave-safe” symbol—avoid microwaving decorated cups with metallic accents (they can spark).
For cleaning:
- Dishwasher-safe (top or bottom rack—avoid harsh detergents that scratch glass).
- For tough stains (e.g., tea/coffee residue), mix 1 tsp baking soda with warm water, soak the cup for 10 minutes, then scrub gently with a soft sponge.
- Avoid using abrasive scrubbers (steel wool, rough sponges)—they scratch the glass and make it prone to breaking.
A: Test for leaks before first use:
- Fill the Thermos with water (to ¾ full) and screw the lid on tightly.
- Tilt the Thermos sideways, then upside down (hold over a sink!) for 1–2 minutes—if water seeps out, the lid may be misaligned or defective.
If it leaks:
- First, check if the lid is properly sealed (some lids have a silicone gasket—ensure it’s not twisted or missing).
- If the leak persists, email us with photos of the leak (e.g., water dripping from the lid) and your order number—we’ll send a replacement lid or full Thermos free of charge (per our return policy).
A: We do not recommend using our Thermos Flasks for carbonated drinks—here’s why:
- Carbonation builds pressure inside the sealed Thermos, which can cause the lid to pop off unexpectedly (risk of spills or injury).
- Over time, carbonation can damage the silicone gaskets in the lid, reducing insulation and causing leaks.
Stick to still drinks (water, coffee, tea, smoothies) for best performance and longevity.
